Wednesday 24th March - 6.30pm to 9.00pm If your family or work commitments make it difficult to visit the Fair during the day, then the Gala Evening is the perfect chance to do some shopping and enjoy a glass of wine while you wander around the show.
The Wine Guest are providing the wine for this year's Fair. They've chosen a great easy-drinking red - Borgo Selene Nerello Mascalese / Nero d'Avola and a fresh and zesty white - Ponte Pietra Trebbiano / Garganega del Veneto.
This year Country Living Magazine is proud to be supporting The Woodland Trust, the UK's leading woodland conservation charity, which aims to prevent loss of ancient woodland and restore and improve flora and fauna for the enjoyment of all. The charity will receive £4 from every Gala Evening ticket you buy, and you can give additional support by participating in special fundraising events during the evening.

The Woodland Trust Country Living’s charity partner the Woodland Trust has a very specific aim for 2010 – to encourage the planting of more broadleaf trees and woods on other people’s land.
For the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity, this encouragement and help represents a new direction and renewed urgency in the Trust’s goal of doubling native woodland cover across the UK.
Their message is simple. Planting a tree may be a small act, but it has a big impact; whether in a back garden or community space, or on allotments, farms and large estates.
The Woodland Trust’s campaign to encourage planting is paying off handsomely. Around 220 more woods are being created this winter (750 acres of new native woodland) under a new MOREwoods scheme which provides advice, practical help and, in some cases, funding.
Wildlife is high on the list of people’s reasons for planting, and is equally relevant for anyone simply enhancing their garden with a native tree.
But the single biggest area of interest on their new web area is woodfuel and planting for future sustainable secure supplies. For help and advice see the Plant Your Own Wood web area: www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/planting.
Overall the Trust wants to see a UK rich in native woods and trees enjoyed and valued by everyone and creation of more native woods and places rich in trees. Its work also protects and restores native woods, trees and their wildlife and it aims to inspire everyone to enjoy and value woods and trees, particularly children. www.woodlandtrust.org.uk
