After many years of training with Tetley to become a Master Blender, Alex Probyn set up Blends For Friends four years ago. After being frustrated with the restricted styles of tea he could use in generic blends, the business was set up to provide bespoke blends to individual tea lovers worldwide. However, it soon became clear that custom tea blends were in demand by tea shops, cafés, restaurants, farm shops, hotels and other niche tea companies - now Blends For Friends supplies a lovely selection of all of these throughout the UK and other parts of the world with an unrivaled blending stock of over 450 different teas, herbs and spices (and coffee!). In the past 11 years, Alex has tasted roughly 1.1million cups of tea, visited over 130 tea estates, 'talked tea' in 14 countries and has created somewhere in the region of 8,000 totally original blends of tea.
