Country Living Christmas Theatre 


Alongside the vibrant exhibition your ticket includes access to a jam-packed live stage programme, where you can get advice and inspiration from leading professionals.

At the CL Christmas Theatre at our London Fair our visitors get the chance to gain some festive top-tips from our expert speakers in 30 minute long sessions about everything from seasonal inspiration, decoration and gifting to home styling, social media, going green and much more. We have an array of expert speakers who will give you an insight into their field of expertise, answer questions and inspire everyone to try something new and exciting this festive season. 

The CL Christmas Theatre is free to attend and the timetable for this year's Christmas Theatre content will be released shortly.

Prue Leith

Session Title: Prue in conversation with Country Living

Description: Join in live as CL editor talks live to Prue Leith CBE at the London Christmas Fair on Wednesday 13 November.

Prue has been at the top of the British food scene for nearly 60 years. A woman of many talents, Prue has seen huge success not only as founder of the renowned Leith’s School of Food and Wine, but also as a caterer, restaurateur, teacher, TV cook, food journalist, novelist, and cookery book author. She has been a leading figure in campaigns to improve food in schools, hospitals and in the home. Well known as a judge on The Great British Menu, now she is a judge on the nation’s favourite TV programme, The Great British Bake Off.

COUNTRY LIVING EXPERT, Emma-Louise Pritchard

Session Title: Plastic-free Secret Santa and gift ideas

Description: Country Living digital editor, Emma-Louise will pick her top gifts and products from the Fair for you to have a sustainable, environmentally friendly Christmas. Attend for a Fair shopping guide and top-tips for plastic-free wrapping.


Carolyn Bailey

Session Title: Stunning looks for your Christmas Tree

Description: Join in as Carolyn Bailey, Homes Director for Good Housekeeping, Red and Prima will demonstrate how to create and dress a truly stunning Christmas tree.  She will cover everything from how to choose the right tree, good ways to disguise the base, choosing the right baubles, where to hang them, lights and toppers.  Plus she’ll show a inspiring ideas from Good Housekeeping shoots showcasing lots of different looks and how to create them.  Remember ‘more is more’!


Sarah Keady

Session Title: Christmas Ideas with Sarah Keady of House Beautiful.

Description: Sarah will talk through a number of simple and stylist ways to effortlessly decorate your home for Christmas. 





Session Title: Christmas with Country Living

Description: Find out first hand how to bring the Country Living look into your home this Christmas.  Ben will cover ideas for decorating your home and table – being the expert behind many of the lovely Christmas settings in the magazine, he will reference past and present shoots and give plenty of ideas and inspiration – plus Q&A.


Lynne Lambourne, Sustainable Interior Designer, Annie Sloan

Session Title:Using Chalk Paint™ at Home

Description: Lynne Lambourne, will talk you through practical tips and techniques for decorating your home with Chalk Paint™. You will leave feeling inspired by the beautiful transformations that can be achieved with Chalk Paint™ and excited about your own ability to upgrade your furniture - and your home.

Session Title: Turn an old piece of furniture into a unique piece for your home!

Description: Lynne Lambourne will demonstrate how to turn an old piece of furniture into a unique and covetable piece for your home. Lynne is committed to saving furniture from landfill whilst also saving you time and money with her quick, easy, and beautiful upcycling hacks!


Karen Haller

Session Title: How to Use Colour to Transform your Life. With Karen Haller in conversation with Marianne Shillingford from Dulux.

Description: Colour has far more impact on how we feel and the decisions we make than we realise. Join Karen Haller in conversation with Marianne Shillingford from Dulux, to discover how to unlock the inherent power of colour and the ways it can be used to positively transform our selves and the spaces in which we live. The Little Book of Colour is the first publication of its kind to illuminate the science, psychology, and emotional significance of colour. It includes practical tools, tips and exercises to help you rediscover meaning in everything you do through the joy of colour.

Sophie Prescott, DiY Blonde

Session Title: 'Have yourself a quirky Christmas: a guide to a non-traditional Christmas’

Description: Join Sophie as she showcases quirky and colourful festive styling ideas, perfect if you are a fan of a non-traditional Christmas.  The session will include two easy-to-make craft demos, unusual styling examples and tips on how to transform your home for Christmas, plus extra information about how you can use up-cycling with things you already have to create sustainable Christmas décor.



Sara Ward - Hen Corner 

Session Title:  Garland from the Garden

Description: Not everyone has space for a Christmas tree in their front room! Sara from Hen Corner will be demonstrating how to create a beautiful space saving home decoration using foliage from the garden, natural adornments and pretty lights. The garland can be hung around a doorway, over a mantelpiece or around a banister.


Jane Means

Session Title: Christmas Gift Wrapping with Jane Means

 Join gift wrap guru Jane Means and pick-up top-tips on how to wrap awkward shaped presents and stylish ideas that will make your gifts so beautiful they will look too good to open! This fun demonstration will also cover eco-friendly, plastic free gift wrap alternatives.

Sian Thomas, Elsker Creations 

Session Title: Add sparkle to your Christmas

Description: Sian is strongly influenced by her childhood in Denmark. Memories of Christmas lights and hints of gold greatly influenced her own Christmas style and her love of gilding. This will be part of her introduction to the guests. She will lead them through a range of seasonal items that they can add gold to and spruce up their Christmas. Sian will introduce them to various forms of gold materials including, gold leaf, gold powder, gold ink and embossing and she will show them how to apply these to card for gift tags Christmas cards and place settings, glass (for gold baubles).


Sian Thomas, Elsker Creations 

Session Title: Using gold leaf on your Christmas decorations and wrapping

Description: In this session Sian will introduce guests to the basics of gold leaf and some simple but effective ways that they can apply gold leaf to a variety of Christmas decorations such as baubles and star and a Christmas candle.




James Golding

Session Title: Cooking interesting dishes from your garden vegetables

Description: James will talk through the use of garden produce from throughout the year.  He’ll divulge top tips about what you can grow and what you can forage in the countryside.  Dishes he’ll discuss will be easy to make and all recipes can be found in the The Pig book.



Di Wood 

Session Title: Barefoot Self-Reliance.  Finding a voice, voting with your feet then empowering yourself to make and do more for yourself, naturally.

Description: Di will talk about the contents of the book, giving demos of some of the how to’s in it such as making your own toiletries, medicines, candles, baskets, foraging, and more...


Christiane Myers

Session Title: The Cozy Club - Creating a business from something you love

Description: In this topical Q&A, Chris Myers from The Cozy Club will share her story from turning from primary school teacher, to author and her top tips for setting up a business based on her passion for craft and eye for interior design. Join her in conversation with Country Living’s Catherine Gee to hear more.

Caroline Nolder

Session Title: Twelve stays of Christmas

Description: Do you host guests over the Christmas period? Do your family stay in your home? Join Caroline Nolder, the UK’s leading B&B consultant and gain advice for entertaining friends and family this festive season in your most valuable asset, your home. Steffi Stern, The Makerss

Session Title: Making simple needle felted tree decorations

Description: Watch Steffi Stern from The Makerss turn fluffy wool with the help of a felting needle into super easy and cute Christmas tree decorations. Steffi will show you how easy it is to learn to needle felt and how anybody (even those who have never even heard of it) make a decoration in no time!


Steffi will demonstrate two different needle felting techniques: 

1) basic shaping from felting wool - A Christmas Pudding Bauble 

2) using pipe cleaners to create a frame which then gets covered with felting wool - A Mini Santa 


Whilst making both those decorations Steffi will give an overview of what needle felting is and how it works, what you need to get started and why this craft is becoming more and more popular!
