COUNTRY LIVING EXPERT, Michelle Jameson, Group Chief Sub Editor, Country Living Magazine
Workshop session Title: Create a Simple Knitted Gift with Country Living
Description: Michelle Jameson, Country Living’s Chief Sub Editor, is also a crafter and will be leading this workshop, which will take you through each stage of a project to create a simple knitted gift. The project will start from casting on to final stages – some experience of knitting (casting on and basic stitches) would be helpful. All materials and basic instructions will be provided and the project will be completed within the workshop ready for you to take away. Plus you can chat to Michele about life behind the scenes at Country Living Magazine while you knit! Level: Suitable for intermediate knitters
COUNTRY LIVING EXPERT, Louise Pearce, Director of Content, Country Living
Description: Louise has worked across a number of commercial and editorial titles. She has a wealth of experience in digital and multi-channel communication, along with a strong commercial understanding of brand building, retailing and licensing. She will continue to edit House Beautiful alongside her new role overseeing all content for Country Living. She combines her life in the city where she works, with her love of rural issues and the countryside – she lives in a small hamlet on the Cambridgeshire border. She is a font of knowledge on everything from decorating, maximising space and fresh design ideas, to small business, good walks and country matters.
COUNTRY LIVING EXPERT, Alaina Banks, Deputy Home & Style Editor, Country Living Magazine
Workshop session Title: Christmas Craft with Country Living
Description: Alaina Banks is Country Living’s talented Deputy Home & Style Editor and is responsible for all the beautiful, creative makes and styling tips in the magazine each month. She will lead this workshop taking you through each step to create a simple, unique hand-made Christmas make, inspired by one of the projects in CL’s Christmas pages. The workshop is suitable for all levels, and all materials will be provided. You will complete the make in the allocated time (be finished in the time), so you can take your creation away with you too. Suitable for any level.
COUNTRY LIVING EXPERT, Emma-Louise Pritchard
Workshop session Title: How Green is your Christmas
Description: From gift wrapping to food prep and how to recycle after the big day, Country Living’s sustainability champions, Emma-Louise and Sarah, share their experience-based know-how on how to have a greener, more sustainable Christmas. We’ll kick off with a short, fun quiz to see just how green your Christmas plans really are! This will be followed by practical tips on reducing your waste, recycling and reducing your carbon footprint – there will be lots of good, simple ideas that will not only get you greener but could also save you money. Level: Suitable for all
COUNTRY LIVING EXPERT, Emma-Louise Pritchard
Session Title: Plastic-free Secret Santa and gift ideas
Description: Country Living digital editor, Emma-Louise will pick her top gifts and products from the Fair for you to have a sustainable, environmentally friendly Christmas. Attend for a Fair shopping guide and top-tips for plastic-free wrapping.
COUNTRY LIVING EXPERT, Ben Kendrick
Session Title: Christmas with Country Living
Description: Find out first hand how to bring the Country Living look into your home this Christmas. Ben will cover ideas for decorating your home and table – being the expert behind many of the lovely Christmas settings in the magazine, he will reference past and present shoots and give plenty of ideas and inspiration – plus Q&A.
Session Title: Stunning looks for your Christmas Tree
Description: Join in as Carolyn Bailey, Homes Director for Good Housekeeping, Red and Prima will demonstrate how to create and dress a truly stunning Christmas tree. She will cover everything from how to choose the right tree, good ways to disguise the base, choosing the right baubles, where to hang them, lights and toppers. Plus she’ll show a inspiring ideas from Good Housekeeping shoots showcasing lots of different looks and how to create them. Remember ‘more is more’!
Session Title: Christmas Ideas with Sarah Keady of House Beautiful.
Description: Sarah will talk through a number of simple and stylist ways to effortlessly decorate your home for Christmas.
Sara Ward, columnist of Country Living and founder, Hen Corner
Session Title: Garland from the Garden
Description: Not everyone has space for a Christmas tree in their front room! Sara from Hen Corner will be demonstrating how to create a beautiful space saving home decoration using foliage from the garden, natural adornments and pretty lights. The garland can be hung around a doorway, over a mantelpiece or around a banister.
Session Title: Chocolate Chilli Cake - For Gifts and Guests
What could be better than a go-to recipe, that’s dairy-free & gluten-free, keeps well and works as both a perfect present and decadent dessert?
Sara from Hen Corner will be demonstrating one of her all time favourite recipes, with tasters at the end of the session.
Session Title: Stir Up Sunday
Traditionally, families would make their Christmas puddings on the last Sunday before Advent, prompted by the prayers read in church 'Stir up, O Lord, the wills of your faithful people, that they bringing forth the fruit of good works...' This would cause many in the congregation to rush home thinking ‘Stir-up, fruit, Christmas Pudding time!’
Sara Ward from Hen Corner will be demonstrating her favourite recipe that is nice and flexible as a make ahead finale for your Christmas feast.
Session Title: Special Stollen
Sara Ward of Hen Corner will spill the secrets on a Christmas best seller at the Micro Bakery. Traditionally made to represent the infant Christ in swaddling clothes, we will be wrapping a blanket of bejewelled sweet dough around an orange almond paste to create a festive treat is perfect for tea time or as a gift for loved ones.
