The free to attend talks on the Country Living Stage are a great opportunity for you to hear more from your favourite brands, pick up a new skill or simply be inspired on topics including home styling, sustainability and more.

harrogate stage

Margaret Fiddes will be joining us in the Harrogate Country Living Theatre at 12 noon on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Session description: 

Collecting together bits and pieces you may already have, charity shop finds and foliage this session will demonstrate how you can turn your Christmas table into a wonderfully inviting place to gather your family and friends. 

We will learn about preparing the foliage in advance, how to balance shapes and sizes, and how to make the maximum impact with ease.

More about Margaret:

Primarily a freelance wedding florist, Margaret also runs regular workshops near Leeds and in the surrounding areas and give demos to groups and societies. Margaret loves working with natural materials and trying out new designs using the best every season has to offer. 

Located near Pontefract with her rescue hens and cats, she is developing a garden on the site of an old pottery. 

Karen Griggs will be joining us in the Harrogate Country Living Theatre everyday at 1pm. 

Session description: 

Starting with a wreath base, some floristry wire and a needle and thread Karen will demonstrate how to make a stunningly beautiful Christmas wreath from supplies you will be able to find in your own garden, local park or woodland and home.  

Learn how to choose foliage for scent and colour. Be inspired to ask relatives for button boxes and left-over pieces of fabric.  

You will learn how to make your own ribbon from leftover pieces of fabric and old clothes; leave feeling inspired to look for different leaves, seeds and cones when walking in nature. 

More about Karen:

Karen is an expert in designing craft activities for beginners. Her love of colours, textures, and scent influences all her work. When you open a Forest Play Box, the scent of a woodland fills the room. Karen’s Forest Craft Boxes are a treasure trove of vintage haberdashery, natural fabrics and wool. 

We all want to lead more sustainable lives and make ethical purchases. Karen believes in helping her customers on that journey. She searches extensively for ethical suppliers, plastic free and vintage craft supplies. Each Forest Craft and Play box is handmade with love by Karen and her small team in Yorkshire.

Sara Ward will be joining us in the Harrogate Country Living Christmas Theatre everyday at 2pm.

Session description: 

Join us as we upcycle empty glass jars to create beautiful lanterns for home decorations or perfect gifts. 

Using everyday items that you can find around the home, Sara Ward of Hen Corner will demonstrate a simple festive craft that you can’t wait to try at home. 

More about Sara:

Over recent years Sara Ward and her family have transformed their Victorian terrace house in West London into an urban smallholding, Hen Corner. They are living the good life complete with 24 hens, three colonies of honey bees, a fruitful kitchen garden and a micro bakery which is making 30-40 loaves of bread each Friday along with hundreds of sticky buns, cakes and savoury treats. 

The Isle of Barra Distillery will be joining us in the Harrogate Country Living Theatre everyday at 3pm.
