Tell us a little bit about your work…

The brand was launched in 2021. After working in fashion, I wanted to create a brand that was good for people and the planet. So, I decided to start with baby wear, as it is the first thing we put on our children. I thought it should be something kind to their skin.

The story behind the name

Ted is my childhood toy, and Dino is my husband’s childhood toy. We still have them both, and they make a great team.

What inspires you?

My first collection is called ‘Save Our Oceans,’ which features four different sea creatures. So, I would say nature inspires me, and I want to raise awareness of why production should be the best it can be for the environment these animals live in.

What is your creation process?

I illustrate and paint my animals using watercolours and then create a repeat pattern, which is digitally printed onto organic jersey. I then make my patterns and sew the products here in the UK.

The prints are hand-drawn by me, and digitally printed to save water, and all our fabrics are organic cotton.

What are your plans for the next 12 months?

To launch my new designs, and I hope to have my products in stores.

What is your next project?

My next project is my next collection, which is a new set of animal illustrations to be launched next year.

What is your biggest achievement?

My biggest achievement is having a stall at Glastonbury festival!

What are you looking forward to the most about exhibiting at the Christmas Fair?

I love the excitement and discovery of new products and businesses.

Any advice for fledging businesses?

Your best work comes naturally when you are really in the mood for it. Walk away if it keeps going wrong, make tea, and come back later. If it’s what you love, keep going!

Get your prices right, and don’t be afraid to sell what you’re worth.
